How my journey began …..
In my early adulthood, I really found my passion with design especially with interiors. Designing spaces that are timeless with a mix of styles, from traditional to contemporary. I love turning spaces that need an overhaul or just the finishing touches into a layered and usable living space.
I am always asked what is my personal style and that is truly hard for me to say. I have grown and evolved over the years and so to has each of my homes allowing me to layer textures, along with mixing new and vintage pieces as well as family collections. This creates a curated look to my interiors that are reflective of me and my family. I stand by a strong belief that a home should reflect the owner.
I listen to and work with my client’s desires for their home. When combined with my passion for design to create spaces they are proud to live in, spaces that feel effortless and purposeful are the result. I love helping clients find ways to make their houses feel like a home. Not to only make them look great, but be comfortable and functional too.
Did I mention I live for the WOW factor, the tears of JOY when your client sees the end result. What satisfaction!! It is just the greatest feeling you can ever imagine and it is what drives the passion I get to call my job.
After graduating from college, I worked tirelessly for clients primarily in the Nashville, Tennessee area to create these results. I am so thankful for the growth, as well as some awesome relationships, my clients provided by referring others. However, six years ago my husband Troy and I and our two dogs, Maggie and Baxter, moved to North Carolina for a business opportunity for him. In doing so, I took time off from design and enjoyed being a wife and learning more about our little town there called Weddington, NC. I grew to love the area and all that it offered as well as my church and new found friends that will for ever be a part of my life. When opportunity came, moving back home was where my heart lied and so our next journey began. And a journey it has been….with the loss of my sweet Maggie girl in 2019, we added to our family two sweet little Havanese rescues, Bella and Brandi, right before our move. We sold our home and arrived back in the Nashville area just as the 2020 pandemic strikes. While working to find a home and/or land to build our own dream home, I decided I really love helping others create their dream homes.
With all this in mind, I started Laureli Designs and Decor…..YAY!!!! I am taking a different approach to traditional interior design and moving forward with interior e-design. Many have asked why Laureli Designs and Decor? My answer is simple. In researching different names and ideas, the name Laureli spelled this way means “Gift of God.” At that moment it was a done deal for me and things just started to go from there. Here I am today once again doing what I love and yet learning to step outside my box with this amazing website, blogging, instagram, facebook and so much more. I can’t say I am not a little nervous, but I am more excited to see where this journey will take me and my family. I love that you are here to experience it with me and I look forward to helping you find your Tears of Joy and experiencing the WOW factor….believe me its amazing.
Words of Wisdom
I am a story teller….My clients hire me to write their story, but instead of words I use fabrics, furniture, architectural elements and of course personal items to them which tells the story of who they are and what they love.
“Collect things you love, that are authentic to you, and your house becomes your story.”
“Don’t be afraid to experiment - not everything has to match. A house that is 100% perfect is rarely full of charm.”
"Be faithful to your own taste because nothing you really love is ever out of style.”
"Trends are good but deadly to follow. You must have your own voice.”
“Life is to short to have ugly pillows on your sofa.”
